Privacy policy

The House of Cadence ("we", "us") is a lash salon at 22B Muir Drive, St. Albert, Alberta. This policy explains what personal information we collect through houseofcadence.com and our booking, how we use it, and the choices you have. We follow Canada's privacy law (PIPEDA).

What we collect

• Bookings and payments. When you book, your name, phone number, email, appointment details, deposit and payment are handled by Square, our booking and payment provider. Card details go straight to Square; we never see or store your full card number.
• Lash consent form. Before your first appointment you fill out a consent form through Square. It can include health information that matters for your safety, like allergies or eye sensitivities. We only use it to do your lashes safely.
• Fully Booked Formula waitlist. If you join the waitlist on our For Lash Artists page, we collect your first name and email address.
• Messages. If you email, text or DM us, we keep that conversation so we can reply and help you.
• Website analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts visits and pages viewed without cookies and without identifying you, and Google Analytics, which uses cookies to show us how people find and use the site (for example, which pages are popular and roughly where visitors are from).

How we use it

• To book, confirm, remind you about and carry out your appointments, and to handle deposits and payments.
• To keep you safe during your service.
• To send waitlist members updates about the Fully Booked Formula. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• To answer your questions and improve our website and services.

We don't sell or rent your personal information.

Who we share it with

We only share information with the services that run our business, and only what they need:

• Square for bookings, consent forms, deposits, payments and gift cards (Square's privacy notice).
• Supabase stores the waitlist, and Google sends us an email when someone joins.
• Vercel hosts this website and provides cookie-free visit counts.
• Google Analytics and Google Maps (the map on our Contact page).

Some of these companies store information on servers outside Canada, such as in the United States, where it may be accessed under the laws of that country. We may also share information if the law requires it.

Cookies

Google Analytics and the Google Maps embed may set cookies in your browser. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work. You can also use Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.

Photos

We sometimes photograph your lashes to show our work on our website and social media. We focus on the lashes and never post your name. If you'd prefer that we don't share photos of you, just tell us, and we'll remove any we've posted.

How long we keep it

We keep booking and consent records for as long as you're a client and for a reasonable time after, as needed for our records and the law. Waitlist information is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.

Your choices

You can ask to see the personal information we have about you, correct it, or have it deleted (unless we need to keep it by law). You can unsubscribe from emails at any time. To make a request, contact us using the details below.

Keeping it safe

We use reputable providers with strong security and limit access to your information. No website or online service is completely secure, but we work hard to protect your information.

Children

Our website isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information online.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
